If I have done your wedding and would like to write a review of our services, please visit Kurt Nielsen Photography on WeddingWire to Write a review for Kurt Nielsen Photography.  It doesn’t matter when I did your wedding.  Reviews from weddings from a long time ago through more recent weddings will show prospective brides and grooms the consistency of my work and customer service.

At the end of each year, WeddingWire (and The Knot) uses all of the reviews and ratings a wedding vendor, like me, receives during that year to determine their Bride’s Choice Awards winners.  They combine the number of reviews with the overall ratings to determine the winners.  Receiving these awards helps the winning companies gain internet exposure and in turn, may help me book more weddings.  Therefore, I wish to thank all of the brides, grooms and mothers who have written reviews for me so far, and thank those of you in advance for writing a review in the future.

Melissa and Mike – A real Toledo wedding by Kurt Nielsen Photography and Jeff Summers

Mike and Melissa were married on Friday, May 20, 2011 at St. Catherine of Siena Parish.
This wedding was a little unusual because the wedding was put together so quickly and depended on when Mike could get leave from the Navy to come home for his own wedding.  Melissa’s mom arranged everything and I was available for the originally scheduled date.  However, when Mike finally found out for sure when he would be home, just a few weeks before the original date, the wedding date had to change because his leave date changed.
The new date that was chosen, May 20th, and I wasn’t available until after 9pm.  I was already fully booked for the Epilepsy Center’s Practically a Golf Tournament in the morning and early afternoon at Levis Commons.  Then I had Davis College’s Graduation at the Stranahan Theatre Great Hall in the evening.  I couldn’t make it to the wedding!  However, I have been photographing Melissa for years, and she really wanted me to do her wedding.  So I came up with an alternate plan.
Since the wedding was in the evening and was a full Catholic Mass, I could make it for most of the reception at The Fountain Room (Inside the Erie Street Market).  I had my friend Jeff Summers (a professional photographer) whom I have known for years, photograph the actual wedding, and I did all of the digital effects (that’s why both of our names are on some of the pictures).  He even took the wedding party to The Toledo Museum of Art for some of the formal shots.
Then came the wedding reception at the Fountain Room, and more pictures with Jeff.
I did make it to the wedding reception in time for dinner and the cutting of the cake!

And it was an epic battle!
The Fountain Room is an absolutely gorgeous facility and the tables were beautifully decorated.
And the fountain in the middle of the room made for some great images!
The newlyweds raked in the dough during the dollar dance!
And everyone danced the night away!
Did I mention that we took Kurt’s Kustom Keepsakes to the reception?
Everyone had a blast with it, maybe too much fun!
Jeff and I even had our picture taken for the happy couple!Congratulation Mike and Melissa from Kurt Nielsen Photography!  May you have many happy years of wedded bliss!  Stay safe Mike!
A special thanks to Jeff for shooting for me!
