Tamara and Bobby were married at St. Mary on the Lake<\/a> in Manitou Beach, Michigan on July 9, 2011.\u00a0 They are true high school sweethearts.\u00a0 I have been photographing Bobby and his family for years and was very honored when they asked me to be part of their special day.<\/p>\n

My day started by getting some images of the bride getting ready.
\nThen we headed into the sanctuary for some fun and formal photos.
\nDon’t worry, I did manage to get some of the groom as well.
\nTheir traditional marriage ceremony was beautiful.
\nAfter the Bridal Party Recessional, we headed back into the church for some more photos of the newlyweds and family portraits.
\nThen it was off to Devil’s Lake Golf Course<\/a> for some more photos and a little bit of golf.<\/p>\n

The bridal party mode of transportation to the reception was the family’s pontoon boat, so we headed to their cottage and took a few images before they departed.
\nThen it was off to the reception at Devil’s Lake Yacht Club<\/a>, or so they thought!\u00a0 The boat didn’t start!
\nTurns out, someone, and I won’t name names, left the boat’s battery on all night and so they replaced the battery.\u00a0 Then they really did take off to the reception under the tent at the Yacht Club.
\nOn the way to the reception, the bride ditched her vail and traded it for a new headpiece.
\nHere are a few images I managed to capture of the reception while waiting for the newlyweds and wedding party to arrive.
\nAfter the Bride and Groom finished their first meal as husband and wife, we sneaked out onto the grounds of the Yacht Club for more photos while their guests finished dinner.
\nIt was then back into the tent for more of the wedding festivities, including the couples first dance.
\nThe musical entertainment for the evening was provided by the Toledo local band Skoobie Snaks<\/a>, and everyone had a great time dancing to them.
\nWhen the sun began to set, we sneaked out of the reception one last time for some more photos down by the water.
\nLater in the evening, the groom and his groomsmen jammed while part of the band was taking a well deserved break.
\nEven though it was probably the hottest day of they year, it was a beautiful and fun wedding and I enjoyed being part of it.\u00a0 Congratulations Tamara and Bobby from Kurt Nielsen Photography<\/a>.\u00a0 May you have a long and happy life together!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
