Toledo High School Seniors Yearbook Photos Photography Dates

Your senior yearbook photo is the one photo that follows you for the rest of your life. It is the one photo that the school will send with your college or military applications. It the one photo that will show up at every single class reunion. It is the one photo that all of your high school friends, classmates, and teachers will remember you by. Your senior photo is your high school legacy and it's important to make sure it is professional in appearance and quality.

In order to help local high school seniors meet their school yearbook photo requirements, we schedule Senior Yearbook walk-in days. These are days when high school seniors can come to my studio and have their yearbook photos taken without scheduling a full portrait session. These dates are open for any high school senior that needs a yearbook photo taken as long as your high school will accept them. Some schools have contracts with other companies and will only accept a yearbook photo from them. However, that does not mean you have to buy senior photos from them.

Fall 2025 Walk-In Dates

• Wednesday, October 15, 4pm - 7pm

• Monday, October 20, 4pm - 7pm

• Tuesday, November 4, 2pm - 7pm

Wait times will vary depending on the number of students who participate.

Everyone will be taken in a first come, first served order.

The whole process only takes about 15-30 minutes depending on how long you take to choose one, and if you are the only one there. Waiting until it is your turn could take up to an hour or longer if we are really busy. We will try our best to make sure wait times are minimized.

Our session fee for Yearbook only sessions is currently $29.95 plus tax for a total of $32.27.

What to Expect

First Steps when You Arrive

When you arrive at the studio, we will have you sign in because we take everyone in the order they arrive.

We have a restroom where you can check your hair, makeup or tie, before we start photographing. We also have a mirror in the studio you can use.

If your parents are with you, they can come into the studio with you so they can watch. However, we DO NOT ALLOW CAMERAS in the studio. They may not take photos of you while back there.

Once your photo is taken, you will then pick which one we send to your school. This is what takes the longest in the process because we can only send one to the school.

How many photos are taken?

While in the studio, I will take a series of headshot photos of you. Some will be from the right, and some will be from the left.

I will ask you to turn and tilt your head. This might feel weird or seem odd, but it is to remove the shadows on your face and to get your best angle.

The number I take just depends on how well you are doing and if you are a blinker. There is no set number but it is anywhere from 10-20 photos total.

What should I wear?

Traditional yearbook photos have the guys in Suits and Ties, or even Tuxedos, and the girls in a dress or for some schools, a black wrap. However, times have changed.

For today's senior yearbook photos, for the most part, students do still dress up. However we have lots of students that show up in a graphic tshirt. The choice is up to your school requirements and how you want to be remembered.

These photos are waist up only and what you wear on your bottom half does not matter. We have people in dress shirts and shorts with flip flops, or a blouse with pajama pants and fuzzy slippers. Comfort is key!

Yearbook Photography Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a yearbook photo session take?

* As previously stated, wait times will vary depending on the number of students that show up during walk-in days. Our suggestion is to allow at least an hour to an hour and a half out of your day to do this. If you are coming later in the day, it will take much longer as the majority of students show up later. Also, come to the first day as it will not be as busy because everyone else will be waiting until the last chance. If you wait until the final day, you can almost guarantee a long wait. If you have a scheduled appointment session, please allow for one half hour at minimum.

When should I have my yearbook photo taken?

* Senior photos are traditionally taken in the summer before senior year. All my senior photo sessions come with a yearbook photo. Yearbook deadlines for submission vary by school. You can usually find the exact date in your school's newsletters. Most deadlines are in November before Thanksgiving break. We will NOT be scheduling other yearbook only in-studio individual sessions from September through December after school. However, full portrait sessions will continue to be available after school hours and include yearbook photos.

Do I get the digital image from my session so I can send it to my school?

* No. The session fee is for my time and the photography session only. After you pick your favorite image, I will retouch it and remove any blemishes and stray hairs. I will then crop the image to your school's specifications and electronically send the image to your school's yearbook advisor and ask them to verify receipt. Right before the deadline, I will send your school a list of names of every senior who came to my studio so we can double check to make sure the school has all of the images we took. You won't need to do anything once the photo is taken.

Can I buy a digital image?

* I do not currently sell single digital images. If you have a full session, then you can purchase a set of images. You can however purchase prints of any size from a yearbook only photo session.

What if I can't come with my student?

* You do not need to be present with your student during a walk-in day yearbook session as long as they have the payment with them. If you are able to access your phone during that time, your student can video chat with you so you can see their photos and help them choose one for their yearbook.

What if I want to do my senior photos in the spring?

* If you wish to wait to do your senior photos at a later date, we can do your yearbook photo now to meet your school deadline. We will then apply your session fee towards your later full senior photos session.

What if I can't make it to one of the Walk-in dates?

* Unfortunately, yearbook deadlines hit during my busy season. If for some reason you can't make one of the designated dates, please call my studio at 419 885 7153. I will make every effort to fit you in, but it may have to be during your school day because of how busy that time of year is for me.

What my customers are saying.

Kurt was amazing. He worked really well with my daughter. He made suggestions on which way she should look and which way to tilt her head. We loved the outcome!
