Toledo Wedding Photographer – Katie and Ray

Katie and Ray were married July 9, 2010 at The Pinnacle in Maumee, OH.  This was the first outdoor ceremony held on their new Twylite Terrace where they did not need to use tents!

Breaking from tradition because Katie and Ray had an evening wedding, we met before the ceremony at The Toledo Museum of Art for some formal location portraits.

Even though it began raining within just a few minutes of Katie and Ray’s arrival at the museum, we were able to capture quite a few beautiful portraits!  Luckily, the rain didn’t last long, but boy did it pour!

Then it was off to The Pinnacle for the ceremony and reception.

Can you tell they are Cincinnati Bengals fans?

During the ceremony, Ray gave Katie’s two daughters a beautiful heart pendant as a token of his love and commitment to them in this new marriage.

The beautiful cake was from Memorable Creations.

The flowers from from Lynn from Pollynn Flowers.

After all of the formalities were finished, …

…the crowd danced the night away to the sounds of Mike from Decorative Sound.

We also brought Kurt’s Kustom Keepsakes (Green Screen Photo Booth) for added entertainment!

Everyone had a blast with the Green Screen, even the father of the bride!

Katie has been a friend and customer of mine for a number of years and it was my pleasure and an extreme honor to be able to be part of her special day!  Congratulations Katie and Ray!

Toledo Wedding Photographer Tip of the Week — Have Fun

Have Fun on Your Wedding Day!  Sounds easy, doesn’t it?  Well you would be surprised at how difficult it is for the Bride and Groom to do this.

You have spent months planning for your big day and you want everything to be perfect.  However, inevitably, things will go wrong.  Chances are, no one will know that anything is not what it should be except for you.  Don’t sweat the small things, just go with the flow as if nothing is going on.

If you hire a wedding planner, the wedding planner should be able to take care of all of the problems before they actually become problems.  If you didn’t hire a wedding planner, designate someone to make sure things run as smoothly as planned.  This would be a great job for someone that you (or your mother) wanted in the wedding, but isn’t, but be sure the person you designate is organized.  Make sure that this person knows exactly what you are planning so they know if something is out of place.  If possible, take them with you to the hall, caterer, meeting with the DJ and when looking for decorations.  This way, they know just how everything should run.  Also, make sure that everyone in the wedding party and both sets of parents know who this person is and what their role is.  Make sure if someone has an issue, everyone knows to go to your designated person first.  This will help alleviate most of the stress on your wedding day and allow you to relax and enjoy the moment!

Don’t forget to give your designated person a thank you gift and include them in your thank you speech.

Ashley and Joe’s Engagement Session

For Ashley and Joe’s Engagement session, we started at their new house.

Then we went Downtown Toledo.  With them being Toledo Mud Hens fans, we had to go to Fifth Third Field!

We also got some great portraits at Toledo EasyStreet!

And of course, while we were downtown, we stopped at International Park for some more great photos!

Wait until you see their wedding sign-in book!

Ashley and Joe were a lot of fun to photograph!  I can’t wait for their wedding next month!
