Our 3rd Annual That's Me! Portrait Contest benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohiowill begin in March. This totally FREE contest is open to all children ages 12 and under and no purchase is necessary to enter or win. To enter, each child must have a 20-30 minute mini portrait session at Kurt Nielsen Photography portrait studio. The portrait sessions must take place between March 11 and April 13, 2013. These photo sessions are meant to showcase each child's personality. Parents are encouraged to bring in their child's favorite item or items such as: their favorite toy, dress up items, dance outfits, sports items, etc., for a FREE candid photo shoot. The parents will then be asked to choose their favorite photo from their portrait session to be entered into the contest and will be given the opportunity to purchase prints or digital images at a discounted rate if they so desire. At this time, if the parents make a minimum of $5 donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio, they will receive a complementary CD slideshow set to music (not printable) of all images from their portrait session from Kurt Nielsen Photography.

Contest voting will take place right here on my website between April 22 and April 29, 2013 with the winner announced on May 1st, 2013. The top 5 entries with the most votes will receive a family prize pack. There is a limit of one prize package per household. All contestants will also receive a goody bag containing various items from local businesses at their portrait session. We are currently scheduling appointments for the contest. Drop them off at The Shops at Fallen Timbers (next to JC Penney) February 15, 16 and 17, 2013 at the Pull Tab Event organized by Penta-Maumee DECA. The event runs from 12pm-6pm each day and Kurt's Kustom Keepsakes green screen photo booth will be there on Saturday, February 16, 2013 for added fun! Get your picture taken with Ronald McDonald and help support the Ronald McDonald House in Toledo!

The proceeds from recycling these alluminum tabs pays for the perishable food for the guests staying at the Ronald McDonald House for the entire year! Every tab counts!

The Toledo Food Bank's annual Valentine's Day Dinner and Dancing event, Hearts of Fire Feed the Desire, will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Sylvania Country Club at 7:00 pm. The event will feature live entertainment, a silent auction, dinner, a cash bar, and my Kurt's Kustom Keepsakes green screen photo booth.

Dinner menu items for the grazing stations include (but is not limited to: dijon encrusted lamb lollipops and Bacon wrapped scallops at the hors d oeuvres station, carved bistro beef medallions at the dinner station, bowtie pasta with pesto sauce at the pasta station, and a delectable candy bar dessert station. It is worth it to go just for the food alone!

We are honored for Kurt's Kustom Keepsakes green screen photo booth to be part of Team Bigelow Mardi Gras Gala benefiting the Great Lakes Spinal Cord Injury Fund for Jeremy Bigelow. This event will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 6:30 pm at Father Wurzel Family Center at St. Joseph School in Sylvania. This event will feature dinner stations and a cash bar, a silent auction, and live entertainment from Aaron Stark Band. Tickets are $100 each and information may be found on on his website.

On October 3, 2010, Jeremy was involved in a serious car accident which left him a quadriplegic. Team Bigelow is comprised of family and friends of Jeremy and they are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with his catastrophic injury. Some of Jeremy's family members are Kurt's long time customers, and that is how Kurt became involved with this organization. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses.

Sunday, February 24, 2013 is the annual Oscar Night fundraiser for the American Red Cross Greater Toledo Area Chapter, and we will be there with Kurt's Kustom Keepsakes green screen photo booth. This Red Carpet affair will be held at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts on the campus of Owens Community College from 6 pm - 10 pm. Guests will be greeted on the red carpet by local media stars and screaming fans. Live bands, over 20 dining stations, decadent desserts and flavorful coffees from our friends at Java Sensations. The live broadcast of the Academy Awards will be played throughout the venue. Tickets may be purchased online through the Red Cross's website.

Looking for the perfect baby shower gift or gift for the newborn? Kurt's Baby My Baby plan has everything you are looking for at an affordable price. This plan covers all of the portrait sessions for the new bundle of joy's first year of life. Kurt's Baby My Baby package includes sessions to be taken at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and their first birthday. At least one session must be a family photo session, but parents are encouraged to be in a few photos from each session. Plus, if you purchase the package before the baby arrives, the maternity session is FREE. A 10% discount is given for all purchases from each portrait session, and a CD slide show set to music is given for each session. Kurt loves social media. However, he is not on as often as he would like to be because of his busy schedule. If he is not photographing, he is editing or busy with other aspects of his business. Kurt loves when you comment or "like" his posts but may not respond right away or may not always see your posts and comments.
