Kurt Nielsen Photography's annual That's Me! Portrait contest was created to raise money and awareness for the Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Ohio, a charity organization that Kurt has been affiliated with for a number of years.

This contest is FREE to any child age 12 and under and there is no purchase necessary to enter or win. Each child receives a FREE mini portrait session and if their parents give a minimum $5 donation to the Ronald McDonald House of Toledo, they received a complimentary CD slideshow (not printable) set to music of all of the images from the FREE mini portrait session.

The photo session is meant to showcase each child's individual personality. Parents were encouraged to bring in their child's favorite play items such as dress-up clothes, toy, sports uniform and/or equipment, or other items that will bring out the child's personality in the photos.

All contest entry photos were chosen by the parents or legal custodians of the child, and do not necessarily reflect the choices of images that Kurt Nielsen Photography would have chosen. None of the photos have been retouched (except to remove the scuff marks or other background issues), nor have they been enhanced or altered in appearance. All photos are in random order.

Voting will begin on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 12:00 (noon) and will last through Friday, May 12, 2017 at 5:00 pm. The winning photos will be announce on our Facebook Page on Thursday, May 18, 2017. Please "Like" our Facebook Page, and follow us on Instagram and Twitter accounts to view the winners and to keep updated on contest details.

Scroll down through all of the contestant photos and pick your favorite image. Under each image is their "Contestant Number." and their voting submission form. You must fill out the form completely or you will not be permitted to submit your vote. To keep our website from crashing, please limit yourself to only 1 vote per valid email address per contestant for each day of voting. This means you can vote for your favorite contestant(s) 1 time each day every day of the contest! Any additional votes from the same valid email address and for the same contestant, over the limit of 1, will not count and the extra votes will be deleted from the voting process. Also, any votes using invalid email addresses, including those with typographical errors, will also be deleted and not count in the overall total. Please check your information before submitting your votes! Randomly selected voters will receive a confirmation email to verify the email address and to prevent cheating.

An easy way to get more votes is to share your child's portrait on your pinterest board. If you already have the "Pin It" button on your tool bar, just click that Pin It button while on this page. (If you don't already have it, just look under the "About" drop down menu at the top of your Pinterest page and find the "Pin It Button." The rest is self explanatory on Pinterest.) You should see all the contestants photos pop up on a pin it page. If you move your curser over each photo, you should see a button that says "Pin This." Click on that button for your photo and it will pop up another page from Pinterest with your child's photo. Choose the board you want to pin your child's photo to. For the Description, make sure you include this web page url so that your followers know where to vote. You can use the following for your description:

Fill in the blank with your child's contestant number. Just copy the above paragraph and paste it into the description of the photo. It's that easy.

Another easy way to get more votes is to share your child's portrait on your favorite social media accounts. This can get confusing for some, so be sure to carefully explain how to vote when you post. Don't forget to use hashtags to get more people to find your photos. Follow me and use the hashtag "kurtnphoto" so I can find you also!

You will first need to download your child's photo from this page. To do this, right click on your child's photo. A dropdown menu will appear and you will need to scroll down to "save picture as." Save your child's image to where you will be able to find it. Then go to your social media accounts and post the picture in your status. Make sure you tell your facebook friends what contestant number your child is along with this web page URL (http://www.kurtnphoto.com/Toledo-Photography-Contest.asp).

Remember, your friends will not all be on at the same time, so keep posting several times a day. They will only see it in their news feeds and if they have a lot of friends, your post could get buried. Don't forget to ask for likes and comments, as this will help you be seen by more people. You can also create an event on facebook with all of these details and invite all of your friends to join. This will show up on the right side of their page. Make sure you post the start and end dates and times as May 8 at 12 noon until May 12 at 5pm, and it will continually show up on their facebook. Feel free to use the example above in the Pinterest directions for your facebook post and event.
