We are having our annual "Day at the Bay" family portrait day at Maumee Bay State Park on Saturday, July 28, 2012. The location session fee is discounted to $59.95 (normally $79.95). We are in full swing for the summer wedding season and the summer bridal shows are about to begin. This is making future brides and grooms think about their own wedding plans. They are doing their research and starting to book their wedding vendors, including Kurt as their wedding photographer. Kurt already has several weddings and events booked for 2013. When planning a big event like a wedding, corporate function, or special occassion, it is always a good idea to secure your favorite photographer early, and by the looks of things for next year, the earlier the better. If you are still unsure or have questions, it is better to meet with your photographer to discuss these matters and Kurt's consultations are always FREE. These are our Senior Ambassadors for 2013. If you are looking for ways to save money on your Senior Portraits, ask one of our ambassadors for their rep cards. Their cards, as shown above, will entitle you to half off of your Senior Photo session fees. Each ambassador has 25 cards to pass out, so get yours early before they run out! As you can see, some of our ambassadors come from schools that have designated yearbook photographers. For your yearbook photo, you MUST go to your school's contracted yearbook photographer. However, you DO NOT have to purchase your Senior Photos from that photographer. You can go to any professional photographer for the ones you want to buy! You also do not have to go to the same school as our ambassadors to use their rep cards for the discount! You can go to any school!

Senior Pictures are not what they were like when we were kids! Today's high school seniors want fun and edgy photos that reflect their style and personality. They want to show off their sports, music and activities that they enjoy and participate in. They want their friends in the portraits. They want photos with their cars, pets and sometimes even siblings or parents. They want to show the world they are unique. Some want their senior photos to make them look like models on the cover of fashion magazines while others just want to look relaxed and "chill." Whatever they want, their senior photos should be all about them. Capturing their personality is what Kurt does best. He does not limit, like most portrait studios, what or who your senior student can bring in for their portrait session. Nor does he limit, within reason, where they can go to take their photos. All Kurt asks is that you let him know what you are bringing and where you want to go so he can be prepared and schedule properly.

Parents are ultimately the one (usually) paying for their child's senior portraits, so they should probably come along for the photo session, but it is not always necessary. Indoor senior portrait sessions are generally scheduled for one hour. For indoor and outdoor senior sessions, expect to spend at least 2 1/2 hours for the session to allow for drive time. If more than one destination is chosen for the outdoor session, additional session fees may apply. Session fees are due at the time of the senior portrait session. All of Kurt's Senior Portrait Pricing can be found here on the website, so there are no surprises as to what you will be paying. Seniors should bring at least two outfits for inside and two outfits for outside for optimal photo choices. Just remember, the more time it takes them for changing clothes, the less time they will have for photographing them. They should also bring with them their clothing for their yearbook photo to the studio portion of their session, if applicable.

The summer before your senior year of high school is the best time to have senior pics taken. Once school starts in the fall, there is so much going on for the student (sports, homework, jobs, etc.). Plus, there is less time to photograph outside because it starts getting dark earlier, which makes it more difficult to get an appointment with a photographer. Also, yearbook deadlines are usually in October or early November of your senior year (some may be earlier). Parents should receive a senior letter or packet from your school about all that goes on for their student's senior year, including the yearbook deadline, so make sure you read it carefully. Don't wait for the last minute before the yearbook deadline to schedule your senior photos, you may not get an appointment.

Senior Portrait appointments can be made at any time. Kurt can even schedule them months out, which some students and parents choose to do. This gives you a better chance of getting the date and/or time you need. Because most of Kurt's Saturdays for this summer and fall are already taken by weddings, Saturday appointments are at a premium. With as hot as it has already been this summer, morning and early evening appointments (cooler times of the day) are also filling fast. All images will be posted online (through my website) for viewing for two weeks only. You can share the password with your family and friends so they can also see all of the images. However, if you do not place your order by the time the photos expire, a $25 fee will be charged to you to re-load the photos. It is therefore important for you to write down the image numbers of the photos you wish to order before the expiration date. All orders are taken in person (by appointment) so Kurt can edit the photos as needed to your liking before placing your order. Bring your list of favorite images and the sizes you want with you to your ordering appointment to save you and Kurt time.

Looking for some great outdoor photos of your child, children or family? Are you having a family reunion and haven't had a photo of your entire family in a long time, or ever? Are you having a company picnic and want to have photographs to capture the memories? Now is the perfect time for outside portraits before it gets too hot or too dry or you get too busy! You can choose your favorite location or Kurt can choose it for you. Because of all of the weddings and events that Kurt has scheduled for this summer, Saturday appointments are extremely limited so it's best to book early. Kurt loves social media. However, he is not on as often as he would like to be because of his busy schedule. If he is not photographing, he is editing or busy with other aspects of his business. Kurt loves when you comment or "like" his posts but may not respond right away or may not always see your posts and comments. Kurt tries to keep up with his messages but may not always give a prompt response. Because Kurt may not be able to respond immediately, Kurt does not schedule appointments via email or social media. Looking for the perfect baby shower gift or gift for the newborn? Kurt's Baby My Baby plan has everything you are looking for at an affordable price. This plan covers all of the portrait sessions for the new bundle of joy's first year of life. Kurt's Baby My Baby package includes sessions to be taken at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and their first birthday. At least one session must be a family photo session, but parents are encouraged to be in a few photos from each session. Plus, if you purchase the package before the baby arrives, the maternity session is FREE. A 10% discount is given for all purchases from each portrait session, and a CD slide show set to music is given for each session. If a portrait package is purchased from each session, you will also receive a FREE custom storyboard print with your favorite photo from each session. The House Golf Outing on August 13, 2012 at The Legacy by Arthur Hills golf course in Ottawa Lake, MI. The Toledo Ronald McDonald House provides a "Home Away From Home" for families of children receiving medical treatment at Toledo area hospitals at no cost to the families. They also provide grants for programs around the community that are set up to educate and promote health and wellness to children and give to programs such as the Sunshine Foundation, Toledo Day Nursery, Diabetes Youth Services, and so many others.
