Valerie and Ryan’s Toledo Wedding by Kurt Nielsen Photography
Valerie and Ryan were married on August 6, 2011 at Christ the King surrounded by family and friends. I have been photographing Ryan and his family for many years and it was an honor to be able to photograph him and his new bride on their special day.
Here are a few of their wedding details at the church. The flowers for the wedding were from Pollynn Flowers in Toledo, and some of the flowers were hand painted by Lynn to match the teal wedding color scheme.
I started with the groom getting ready and then some of his pre-wedding photos with his family and groomsmen.
Then it was off to see what the bride was up to and to get some photos of her and her family and bridesmaids, and to get more details of the day.
The bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses were from Bridal Creations of Monroe, and were stunning.
Before you knew it, it was time for the ceremony to start.
After the service and the blowing of the bubbles, it was back inside the church for more formal portraits of the couple, bridal party and their families.
Then the happy couple and bridal party climbed onto the Limo Toledo Party Bus for a quick trip to Central Catholic High School, where both Ryan and Valerie graduated, for some photos.
Then we headed to the Toledo Museum of Art for a lot more fun and formal wedding portraits.
We made one more stop in Downtown Toledo for a few more shots.
Finally, it was off to the reception at Parkway Place in Maumee where the black and teal color scheme was carried throughout the hall. Paula from Memorable Creations did a great job on the wedding cake. The whimsical cake topper was a hit.
The different centerpieces Lynn created added elegance to the tables.
When the wedding party arrived, we went right into the formal toasts.
Then it was time for dinner, and the food was amazing!
The rest of the wedding activities immediately followed dinner, starting with the cutting of the wedding cake.
DJ Pete, the house DJ at Parkway Place, kept the crowd going.
Well, almost everyone!
We also took our Kurt’s Kustom Keepsakes green screen photo booth to the reception. This is an open air photo booth which allows for a larger group of people to be photographed as opposed to a more traditional enclosed photo booth. We also made a scrapbook for the bride and groom to take home that night. Each guest was able to have their photos taken, we printed the picture and put it on the scrapbook paper for the guests to sign. Everyone loved the idea and it kept them entertained throughout the evening.
We got a lot of fun photos for the couple to enjoy with our photo booth. Plus, we raised a little money along the way. The bride and groom had a special request for us. They wanted to raise money and awareness for the Susan G. Komen of Northwest Ohio in memory of Ryan’s sister Jenny, who had recently passed away from breast cancer, and her Expecting Miracles Race for the Cure team. To do this, we asked for a $1 donation from anyone who wanted their background picture to be the special Expecting Miracles Pink Ribbon. We are happy to say, we raised $263 for a great cause that night.
Congratulations Ryan and Valerie from Kurt Nielsen Photography! May you celebrate many more wonderful occasions together!
