Toledo Wedding Photographer | Angela and Tony’s October Wedding by Kurt Nielsen Photography

Angela and Tony were married on October 8, 2011 at Heritage Church of God in Maumee, OH surrounded by their family and friends.

I got to the church a little before noon and began taking pictures of all of the church decorations and the programs.

Then I went to check in on the groom and bride to take some photos of them getting ready.

The bride and groom gave gifts to one another which evoked quite a bit of emotions for each of them and represented their lives together.

Tony had help from family and friends making the book for Angela.

And this time, Tony truly gave Angela the key to his heart.

Angela gave Tony a watch with a memorable inscription.

I took a few more pictures of everyone getting ready.

With the guys being ready, it was time to head into the sanctuary to take photos of the groom with the guys in the wedding party.

Then it was back to check on the bride and take more photos of her putting on the finishing touches.

Before we knew it, it was almost 2:30 and time for the wedding to begin.

The music began to play and the groom waited in anticipation for his first look at his soon to be bride walking down the aisle.

After a few quick pics outside the church, it was time to go back inside to finish taking the formal photos of the families and wedding party.

Then it was off to Perrysburg and Perry’s Landing for some more wedding party and romantic photographs.

When we finished at Perry’s Landing, the bridal party got back into the stretch from Total Image Limosine and headed to the reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall in West Toledo. While the bridal party was making their way there, I headed in and got some photos of the reception decorations and the beautiful wedding cake from Eston’s Bakery.

It was finally 6pm and time for the bridal party’s grand entrance!

After the bridal party was introduced by DJ Adam from Decorative Sound and seated at the head table, the celebration went straight into the Maid of Honor and Best Man’s toasts to the newlyweds.

The buffet style dinner from Premier Catering was delicious. Having the buffet line gave the newlyweds a chance to mingle with their guests who were still waiting to eat.

After dinner came the cutting of the wedding cake. Angela gave the hint that there would be a little bit of a battle when it came to feeding each other the cake.

Then Tony confirmed that there would be a cake fight!

All is fair in love and cake war, but in the end, love won and everyone enjoyed the delicious wedding cake.

We moved right into the dances, beginning with the bride and groom’s first dance. Then we went to the Bride and her brother followed by the groom and his mother dancing. These dances evoked many more emotions for everyone.

Then it was time for everyone to join in the dancing and celebration!

The final formalities of the evening were the bouquet and garter toss, followed by the Ohio State-Michigan themed Dash for Cash.

And the winners were…..from the wedding party? Do you think that it was rigged?

I sure hope Tony let Angela win the Dash for Cash to keep him out of the dog house after the cake incident! Well, that and the fact that I’m a buckeye fan!

Everyone danced the rest of the night away!

While the rest of the wedding festivities were going on in the main reception room at the hall, my Kurt’s Kustom Green Screen crew was in another room taking fun photo booth pictures of the wedding guests.

Each guest got to take home a 4×6 print of their finished photos as a souvenir and we also printed one copy for a scrapbook for the bride and groom. The guest then got to sign and decorate the pages. They absolutely LOVED this idea, and so did the bride and groom who got to take it home with them that night!

The reception ended at 11:30 and there were a lot of last minute photograph requests. By the time the night was over, Angela and Tony had almost 1400 photos to remember their wedding!

Fremont Wedding Photographer | Kristen and Michael’s Fremont wedding by Kurt Nielsen Photography

Kristen and Michael were married on September 24, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont, OH.

My day began by taking photos of the church decorations and the Bride’s dress and accessories. Then a few photos of the bride and groom getting ready.

Once everyone was ready, we started taking some of the formal photos with the bride and her bridesmaids.

Before we knew it, it was time for the wedding to begin.

After the ceremony, everyone left the church and headed outside for the Balloon and Dove release.

After the dove and balloon release, the newlyweds made a quick toast to their guests.

We headed back into the church for the rest of the formal shots of the bride and groom, wedding party and their family photos.

We did a few quick pics outside the church and then walked across the street for some more “urban” looking photos.

After all of the photos were taken at the church, the wedding party hopped on the party bus and headed to their favorite stop, The Depot for some pizza!

We then headed to the Reception at the American Legion, but on the way, we stopped on the suspension bridge for some unique photos.

Once we arrived at the reception location, I ran inside to take some photos of the decorations Kristen and Michael used to personalize their wedding.

It was finally time for the bridal party’s grand entrance into the reception.

After the bride finally got a look at her beautiful cake, it was time for dinner.

The groomsmen’s dates must have been famous models because they didn’t eat a thing and everyone kept watching them and taking pictures.

Kristen and Michael even had an activity table for the kids at the reception.

After dinner, it was time for the Maid of Honor and Best Man’s toasts to the newlyweds.

Then it was time for the dancing to begin starting with the Bride and Groom’s first dance, the bridal party dance, then the father-daughter and mother-son dance.

Next on the itinerary was the cutting of the wedding cake!

After cleaning up from their cake fight, it was time for more dancing and fun.

The bouquet and garter toss came next and the groom was very creative when getting the garter off the bride’s leg.

Kristen and Michael even had candy for the kids to catch.

Back to more dancing and wedding shenanigans.

Instead of doing a long ‘dollar dance’, the bride and groom chose to do a Dash for Cash. This is where the wedding party runs through the crowd collecting money for the bride and groom in a short amount of time.

I don’t usually post so many candid photos from weddings in my blog, but Kristen and Michael had so many good ideas and funny things going on that I just had to post them. Of course, there were a few that I couldn’t post also!

I have seen many drinking games and ideas at weddings, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen this.

DJ Rusty Sleek kept the party going with lots of dancing.

And what wedding would be complete without the men in the bridal party dancing to the YMCA in their underwear and singing to the crowd!

After the reception was over, the wedding party hopped back onto the party bus and headed to their favorite watering hole for one last group photo opportunity.

Joeline and Tom’s Wedding by Toledo Photographer Kurt Nielsen Photography

Joeline and Tom were married on September 3, 2011 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Ida, MI. When I got to the church, I went in to say hi to the bride and groom while they were getting ready for their big day.
While the bride was getting dressed, I took the groom and his groomsmen and family into the sanctuary for some of the formal pre-wedding portraits.
Then it was back to check on the bride, and she was having a great time getting ready!
Finally the girls were ready and it was time for their pre-bridal photos.
Before we knew it, it was time for the wedding ceremony to begin.
After the ceremony, the guests were given bubbles to blow as the bride and groom exited the church.
The bride and groom made a quick exit to their antique getaway car.
But alas, they couldn’t leave because they had to come back in to sign their marriage certificate and take more formal wedding party and family photographs.
It was then time to head to Dundee, MI on the River Raisin near the Old Mill for some candid and fun photos and more formal portraits with the River as a beautiful backdrop.
Everyone had a great time playing on the playground!

Of course, after they climbed up to the top of the slide, they had to come down somehow!
Finally it was time to head to Dusseau’s Reception Center in Temperance, where the guests were already enjoying my Kurt’s Kustom Keepsakes green screen photo booth during the cocktail hour.
When the bride and groom arrived, we went right into the wedding toasts from the maid of honor and best man. Then dinner was served, the bride and groom mingled with their guests while they were finishing their dinners, then they cut their wedding cake. After the newlyweds cleaned off the black and blue icing from their cake, it was time for the dancing to begin.
The last wedding formality of the evening was the bridal bouquet toss and the garter toss.
Then it was finally time for the bride and groom to let loose with more dancing, including the popular dollar dance, and them finally being able to get into the photo booth fun.
The DJ from Class Act did a great job keeping the party going, but it was finally time for him to call it a night and say good bye.
