Brooklyn Michigan Resort Wedding – Melinda and Rick

Melinda and Rick were married on June 7, 2014 at Sauk Valley Resort in the Irish Hills of Brooklyn, Michigan. The facility is best known for having sports and band camps in the summer and only allows a few weddings and events each year. The resort is only a mile away from Michigan International Speedway. The wooded landscape and private lake provided a beautiful backdrop for Melinda and Rick’s formal wedding photos.

My day started with the guys getting haircuts and shaves at Roosters in Toledo. Then I drove to Gemini Salon and Day Spa in Chelsea, Michigan to photograph the girls getting ready.

Then we headed to Brooklyn and the resort where the girls finished getting ready. While I was waiting on them, I was able to capture a some of the wedding reception details and some of the pre-wedding photos.

The mother of the bride made the flower girls dresses, and the Weddings Wrap Infinity convertible bridesmaids dresses were found on Etsy.

Melinda and Rick chose to do First Look photos on the balcony of the Brooklyn resort.

This allowed us to be able to do a few of the wedding party photos before the ceremony. And we finished taking them after the wedding. We took a few more down by the lake after dinner.

After the bride and groom’s first dance, everyone danced the night away with Doug Bermick of Professional Sounds.

The groom’s brother was given a special tribute for his military service.

For added fun, we had our Kurt’s Kustom Keepsakes green screen photo booth there for all of the wedding guests to enjoy. They even made a scrapbook for the bride and groom with their pictures.

Super Bowl of All Bridal Shows in Toledo 2014 | Show Special

It’s a new year, and a new bridal show season! The first and biggest Toledo bridal show of the year is the Sounds of Music DJs Super Bowl of All Bridal Shows. This two day event is this Saturday, January 11th and Sunday, January 12th from 1pm until 5pm. It is so large that it requires two separate venues, The Premier Banquet Complex and Stranahan Theatre Great Hall. Tickets are good for both days and you can get them in advance for $8 at all Anderson’s Stores, Belle Amour Bridal; and Atlas Bridal Shop; or pay $10 at the door.

Kurt Nielsen Photography and Kurt’s Kustom Keepsakes will be at this bridal show at The Premier, 4480 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614. Look for the big green screen on the wall opposite of where you come in. We will be next to the Sounds of Music DJs.

For this bridal show ONLY, I will be offering $300 off my (regularly priced $2,595, plus tax) Complete Wedding Package. The Complete Wedding Packages includes: All day photography (unlimited hours) from Kurt Nielsen Photography, extra locations for pictures, all images uploaded to an online viewing and ordering gallery (for friends and family), CD slideshow of all of the images taken set to music, printable disk of all images at full resolution with print release so you can print as many photos where ever you want to go, and a complimentary engagement portrait session. Plus, from Kurt’s Kustom Keepsakes: Photo Booth for your entire reception with unlimited prints (everyone in every photo gets to take a 4×6 print home!), a scrapbook of all of the printed photo booth images signed and decorated by your guests, and a printable disk of all of the photo booth images from your reception!

Additionally, any wedding or photo booth package that is booked at the show or an appointment is made to book my services by January 20, 2014 will only have to pay a $200 deposit instead of the normally required $400 to hold your wedding date. This is not a discount, but merely a lower amount that is needed to hold your date. The deposit is non-refundable. A signed contract is also required to hold any wedding date.

The deposit must be made and the contract must be signed before January 20, 2014 to take advantage of this offer.
